REPORTING AND ANALYTICS

Automated data pipelines that feed your reports the right numbers

When three teams pull the same metric and get three different answers, the problem isn't your dashboard. It's what's feeding it. We build automated data pipelines that connect your source systems, clean and standardise your data and deliver analysis-ready numbers to Power BI, your data warehouse or wherever your reporting lives. No more overnight jobs that fail silently. No more Monday morning reconciliation.

Our data pipeline services

We design, build and manage the data infrastructure that sits between your source systems and your reporting tools. Whether you need a single scheduled pipeline or a multi-source data warehouse feeding live dashboards, we make sure the right data arrives in the right place on time.

ETL pipeline design and build

Automated extract, transform and load pipelines that pull data from your business systems, apply your business rules and deliver clean, structured data to Power BI, your data warehouse or any downstream reporting tool. Every pipeline includes error handling, logging and data lineage tracking from day one.

Azure Data Factory and Synapse pipelines

Orchestrate complex data workflows on Microsoft's enterprise integration platform. Azure Data Factory handles orchestration, scheduling and monitoring for batch and event-driven workflows. Synapse Analytics brings together data warehousing and big data processing for organisations that need both in one environment.

Data warehouse architecture

The central data store your reporting and analytics depend on. We model your business data into a clean, queryable structure using star schemas, handle slowly changing dimensions and build the refresh logic that keeps everything current without manual intervention.

Data quality and validation

Automated validation rules that catch problems before bad data reaches your reports. Row counts, null checks, referential integrity, duplicate detection and threshold alerts so your team trusts the numbers without manually spot-checking every extract.

Pipeline scheduling and orchestration

Pipelines that run on your schedule: daily, hourly or triggered by events in your source systems. Dependency chains ensure stages run in the right order, with automatic retries on failure and escalation alerts when something needs human attention.

Pipeline monitoring and alerting

Operational dashboards that show pipeline health at a glance: last run status, row counts, processing times and error logs. Automated alerts via email or Teams when a pipeline fails, runs long or delivers unexpected results so issues are caught before anyone opens a report.

Frequently asked questions

01

What is a data pipeline and why do we need one?

A data pipeline is an automated process that extracts data from your business systems, cleans and transforms it, then loads it into a destination like a data warehouse or Power BI. If your team is manually exporting CSVs, copying data between spreadsheets or spending hours reconciling numbers from different systems, a data pipeline replaces that manual work and ensures your reporting is always based on clean, current data.

02

What tools do you use to build data pipelines?

We primarily build on Azure Data Factory for orchestration, scheduling and monitoring. For organisations that also need data warehousing and analytics processing, we use Azure Synapse Analytics. For organisations with existing SQL Server infrastructure, we work with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and can migrate legacy packages to Azure when you're ready.

03

Can you connect to our existing systems?

Yes. Azure Data Factory has native connectors for most common business systems including SQL databases, finance platforms, CRMs, cloud storage, REST APIs, SharePoint and flat files like CSV and Excel. For systems without a native connector, we build custom connections or use intermediate staging to get your data into the pipeline. We assess your source systems during scoping so there are no surprises.

04

What happens when a pipeline fails?

Every pipeline we build includes automatic retry logic for transient errors, detailed error logging and automated alerts via email or Microsoft Teams. Your data team is notified within minutes of a failure, not the following Monday when someone notices the numbers look wrong. We also build monitoring dashboards so you can see the health of all your pipelines at a glance.

05

What happens after the pipeline is built?

Pipelines need ongoing attention as your source systems change, new data requirements emerge and your business grows. We offer ongoing support that covers monitoring, error resolution, new source connections, data model updates and performance tuning. Most clients start with a support arrangement so their pipelines stay healthy without needing to manage the infrastructure themselves.

06

How much does a data pipeline project cost?

We quote every project individually after a scoping conversation. The cost depends on how many source systems are involved, how complex the data transformation logic is, whether you need a data warehouse and what level of monitoring and alerting you require. We offer a free initial conversation to understand your requirements and give you an honest assessment before any commitment.

Stop fixing data that should already be right. Build pipelines your reports can trust.

Still reconciling data from three different systems every Monday? Tell us what's feeding your reports and we'll show you how an automated pipeline could fix it. Every engagement starts with a free initial conversation. No pressure, no commitment.
