Frequently asked questions

01

What is Power Automate?

Power Automate is Microsoft's workflow automation platform. It lets you create automated processes between apps and services to synchronise files, get notifications, collect data, approve requests and more. It connects to over 1000+ applications including SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Salesforce, Xero and hundreds of others. OfficePro Consulting designs, builds and supports Power Automate solutions for Australian businesses of all sizes.

02

How much does Power Automate consulting cost?

It depends on the scope. We price every project individually based on how many systems are involved, the complexity of your business rules and whether AI processing is needed. Most projects are quoted as a fixed price, but we also offer hourly consulting for ongoing work or smaller tasks. We walk through everything in a free initial conversation so you know exactly what you're paying before we start.

03

Can Power Automate connect to non-Microsoft apps?

Yes. Power Automate has over 1,000 pre-built connectors including Salesforce, Xero, MYOB, Google Workspace, Slack, Dropbox, Adobe, SAP, ServiceNow and many more. For systems without a connector, we build custom connectors or use HTTP actions to connect to any app with an API. This means your automation isn't limited to Microsoft. We regularly build flows that pull data from one platform, process it and push results to another, regardless of where the data comes from.

04

How long does a Power Automate project take?

It depends on the complexity. A straightforward approval or notification flow can be ready in days. Projects that involve multiple systems, business logic and testing typically take a few weeks. Larger programs spanning several departments or platforms are delivered in phases. We scope everything upfront in a free initial discussion so you'll have a clear timeline before any work begins.

05

Do we need Power Automate premium connectors?

It depends on what you need to connect to. Many common Power Automate connectors like SharePoint, Outlook, Teams and OneDrive are included in standard Microsoft 365 licences. Premium connectors like Salesforce, SQL Server, Dataverse and HTTP require a premium Power Automate licence. We review your licensing during discovery and recommend the most cost-effective setup.

06

Can you fix someone else's Power Automate work?

Absolutely. We regularly take over and fix Power Automate environments that were built by previous consultants or internal teams. We audit the existing setup, identify problems, stabilise critical flows and rebuild anything that cannot be saved. This is one of our most common engagement types.

07

Power Automate vs Power Apps: which do we need?

They solve different problems and usually work together. Power Automate runs the workflows behind the scenes: approvals, notifications and moving data between systems. Power Apps gives people a screen to enter and view that data. Most projects use both, an app for the people-facing part and flows running the automation underneath. We help you work out which you actually need and build only that.

08

Does Power Automate use AI?

Yes, in two ways. AI Builder adds capabilities like reading documents, pulling data off forms and predicting outcomes inside a flow, with no code. Copilot lets you describe a workflow in plain English and have a first draft built for you. We use both where they genuinely save time, and we're careful not to add AI where a simple flow does the job better.

Your team deserves better than manual workarounds. Let's automate it.

Whether it's approvals stuck in inboxes, data being copied between systems or reports being built from scratch every month, there's a better way. Start with a free initial consultation where we'll map out what to automate first, how long it takes and what it costs. No commitment, no sales pitch, just a straight conversation.
