Custom code automation services
When low-code platforms hit their limits, you need someone who can write the code. We build custom automation in Python, .NET and PowerShell for Australian businesses that need precision, performance or logic beyond what low-code tools can deliver.

Our custom code automation services
When low-code platforms hit their limits, we write the code. OfficePro Consulting builds custom automation in Python, .NET and PowerShell for Australian businesses that need precision, performance or logic that drag-and-drop tools can't handle.
Python Automation
Scripts and applications for data processing, file manipulation, scheduled tasks and complex business logic. Python handles the jobs that are too intricate for flow-based tools.
.NET and C# Development
Enterprise-grade automation built in C# and .NET for organisations that need compiled, performant code running on Azure or Windows Server infrastructure.
PowerShell Scripting
Automate Windows and Azure administration tasks. User provisioning, mailbox management, bulk Active Directory changes, scheduled maintenance and infrastructure automation.
Azure Functions
Serverless code that runs on a schedule or in response to events. No servers to manage, scales automatically and you only pay when it runs. Ideal for scheduled data syncs, webhook handlers and background processing.
Data Processing Scripts
Automated file parsing, record matching, data cleanup and transformation. When your business runs on spreadsheets, CSVs or database exports that need wrangling before they're useful.
Legacy Script Modernisation
Old VBA macros, batch files and legacy scripts rewritten in modern, maintainable code. We migrate your existing automation to Python, .NET or PowerShell so it's supportable long term.

Real projects, real results
Inherited custom code nobody can maintain?
Scripts with no documentation, brittle logic, the one person who understood it has moved on. We review, refactor and document so it holds up.

We don't build and disappear
Custom code needs maintaining as your business rules change and systems update.
We stay with you.
Monitoring, bug fixes and updates to the scripts and applications we build. When business rules change or upstream systems update, we adjust the code so nothing breaks.
- Scheduled script monitoring and error alerts
- Bug fixes and logic updates as requirements change
- Dependency and library version management
- Azure Functions scaling and cost reviews
- Monthly performance and execution reporting
Every solution we deliver comes with clear documentation so your team knows what the code does, how to run it and who to call if something needs changing.
- Inline code comments and README files
- Runbooks with step-by-step execution guides
- Architecture diagrams showing data flow
- Environment setup and deployment instructions
- Video walkthroughs of key logic and processes

Frequently asked questions
When should I use custom code instead of Power Automate?
Power Automate is great for straightforward workflows between Microsoft and third-party apps. Custom code is the better option when you need complex data manipulation, high-volume processing, advanced matching logic, tight performance requirements or integration with systems that don't have pre-built connectors. In many projects we use both together. Power Automate handles the orchestration and triggers while custom Python or .NET handles the heavy lifting underneath. See our Power Automate services for the low-code side.
What languages do you build in?
Primarily Python, C#/.NET and PowerShell. Python for data processing, file parsing, API integrations and scheduled automation. C#/.NET for enterprise-grade applications, complex business logic and high-performance processing on Azure. PowerShell for Windows administration, Azure resource management, Active Directory automation and bulk provisioning tasks. We pick the language that fits the job, not the other way around.
How much does custom code automation cost?
It depends on what you need built. A straightforward data processing script might take a few days. A complex multi-system integration with error handling, logging and monitoring takes longer. We quote every project as a fixed price based on scope, so you know what you're paying before we start. We walk through everything in a free initial consultation first.
Can you work with code our internal team has already written?
Yes. We regularly pick up existing codebases, audit them for issues, fix what's broken and extend them with new functionality. If the code is too far gone we'll recommend a rewrite, but only when it genuinely makes more sense than fixing what's there. We're straightforward about which approach saves you more time and money.
Where does the code run?
Wherever fits your business best. Most of our work runs on Azure (commonly Azure Functions for serverless, App Service for always-on applications and Azure Automation for PowerShell), but we have capability and expertise across AWS, Google Cloud, on-premises Windows and Linux servers and hybrid environments. We recommend the hosting approach based on your volume, budget and existing environment.
Do we need to know how to code to work with you?
No. You tell us what the process is and what outcome you need. We handle all the technical work including design, development, testing and deployment. Every solution comes with documentation and runbooks so your team understands what the code does and how to trigger it, even if nobody on your team writes code.
When drag-and-drop tools aren't enough, we write the code.
If your business runs on messy spreadsheets, legacy scripts nobody wants to touch or manual processes that should have been automated years ago, let's talk. Start with a free consultation where we'll work out what to build, which language fits and what it costs. No commitment, no sales pitch, just a straight conversation.
